DIY Kid’s Tipi

Is it tipi or teepee?  I don’t know.  But it was what we made for Luca’s second birthday present.  I found a tutorial online at the Sew Mama Sew blog.  We had to make some tweaks but it came together in the end.

I’ll admit up front:  my mom sewed most of it.  🙂   It kind of got put off till the last minute {typical, I know} so while I was making guacamole for the birthday party and getting Mason together, mom and Matt did the assembly and iron-on transfers.

We used an unbleached cotton fabric, six bamboo stakes and sewed rings inside to put the bamboo stakes through.  We found a bunch of iron-on transfers at Joanne Fabrics that had earth-friendly sayings {Luca’s birthday party was a “green” theme}.

It was supposed to be no-sew, but we ended up deciding to sew parts of it to make our fabric size work.

Thanks, mama!
