Hawaiian luau

In anticipation of our upcoming trip to Hawaii, Matt and I hosted a Father’s Day luau (a couple days early) with his family.  Sunset Magazine had great luau bbq recipes in the June issue, so we copied them.   

These are the glazed pork and pineapple buns – super yummy. {Sunset’s photo, not mine.}  Instead of pineapple drops, we did pineapple mojitos

papaya and avocado salad

caramelized onion dip

coconut lime shrimp skewers

Nicole and Fabio brought delicious homemade gelato to pair with brownies.  They made my favorite ice cream flavor:  mocha almond fudge. 

The highlight of the day was Cousin Luca pulling himself up for the first time.

    Glad that you liked the recipes I created for the luau story. It’s nice to see that they were put to good use. The only thing that makes me happier than cooking for people, is give others great recipes to cook for their friends and family.
